Maybelline ColorShow Lipsticks Review : Cherry crush, Hot chocolate
Hi All 🙂
Maybelline New York launched ColorShow Lipsticks last year in some shades. Then they added some more shades and made it to 32 and made an ad. And said
Here’s why you will love it: Enriched with ultra-care hydrating formula, 32 vibrant moisture rich shades, Lip color doesn’t fade in extreme heat and humidity, Shades to suit all Indian skin tones .
I have 2 shades from Maybelline ColorShow Lipsticks completely from different hues 😀 So here goes my review on them.
Price : 299INR.
My experience with Maybelline ColorShow Lipsticks :
Packaging: The lipstick packaging is straight business. Black sturdy case, have a colored ring indicating the shade hue the lipstick belongs to, shade name and colour sticker at the bottom, shuts with the click, twist up tube and not cheap looking.
Cherry crush: It’s a blend of Cherry red and Pink. It looks gaudy on my dusky skin at times; it might wash out the deeper skin tones. But an absolutely beautiful shade.
Hot chocolate: As the name says it’s a chocolate brown shade, I bought this as I wanted to experiment with the brown shade. But this bowled me over. What a gorgeous shade, brightens up my face without making me look old. I get compliments whenever I wear this shade. I sometimes top this with the maroon shade I own and voila!! It becomes a Marsala shade.
Texture & Pigmentation: The two shades I have has similar texture. Creamy; glossy; velvety. These are creamy lipsticks with great pigmentation; they cover lip pigmentation without any issue. There are no shimmers in either and lipsticks glide smoothly over the lips. Both the shades I have don’t accentuate dry lips or don’t get to stuck to lips. Cherry crush is a little sheer compared to the Hot chocolate.
Performance: These lipsticks have great staying power. The intensity of the shade stays on for a long long time then they leave a stain behind. To be precise Cherry crush stays for 3-4 hours leaving a pinkie stain; Hot chocolate stays 3-5 hours leaving a brown marronish stain. The darker shades definitely stay longer than the lighter ones.
A lot of good things has been said about it. And they are all true. I would like try some lipsticks from the hues I don’t have. Maybelline colorshow lipsticks have great shade range, formula and good pigmentation at affordable rate. Yup! Boring packaging; Yup! Average performance but who cares!! Must try.
What do you think about this? Have you tried this range? Which is your favorite range in this?
